Maps for Compassion

5 Rhythms dance meets Compassionate Communication

A residential workshop in Somerset

17th – 22nd Feb, 2013

This is a week that offers two life-enhancing maps. Cath and Sue love and use these practices and believe that when both are available to us life gets richer.

Five Rhythms helps us wake up in our bodies, hearts and minds, to the juice and feistiness of life, to it's tenderness and possibilities. As we move in this no-steps-to-learn practice, our hearts and minds can also become more fluid, stronger, more connected and exciting. This is a practice that anyone can do, with or without music, with or without others and it brings us, first of all, closer to ourselves. From there our relating can be more authentic and inspired.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a map that has been used to create connection between diverse peoples, from weary couples to warring countries. It was developed by Marshall Rosenberg, who studied under Carl Rogers.  It has been taught to feuding communities worldwide: rioting students and gang members, prisoners and prison officials, managers, politicians, as well as workshops full of people wanting to communicate in a heartfelt and satisfying way in their everyday lives.
